I think all parents know how hard it sometimes can be to make sure your child gets enough nutrients. You want to keep them pleased but also healthy. However, what if your child refuses to take only one bite of fruit or vegetables? I have some amazing tips and tricks for you on how to make sure your child eats sufficiently fruits and vegetables!
- Fruit as a snack
Replace the chocolate cookies with sweet, juicy fruit. Wash and cut the fruit and place it in plain sight in the fridge. Make sure you always have fruit at home because within no time your kid will absolutely crave for fruit!
- Make the fruit and vegetables look fun.
Place or cut the vegetables or fruit in different and fun shapes! Why not make smiley or a flower with your food? The kids will have fun and forget that they’re eating vegetables!
- Involve your kids into the world of food!
Let them help with cooking or maybe start a vegetable garden with your kid. This way you involve your kids and they will love to water their vegetables and later cook them. When they ‘created’ these vegetables they are proud of them and want to eat them too.
- Trick them!
Incorporate vegetables in a dish in a way they don’t even see them. You for instance can make mixed vegetables soup, it contains a lot of nutrients and it’s also very delicious. Or maybe mix fruit in a blender for a colorful smoothie.
- Don’t be too harsh!
You do not want to force them on eating fruit and vegetables! If you keep this topic lighthearted, they are more likely to eat them. Besides that you should ban their favorite cookies in their live because that will give the contrary effect. Just make sure you have a good balance between cookies and vegetables.
- You are what you see.
Most important give them the good example! When you eat every day vegetables and fruit, your kid gets interested and wants to try it too. However, when you eat never fruit yourself, your kid would not be motivated to eat them.
